Summer with Lilly Pulitzer

Lilly Pulitzer’s Summer collection is finally here! They came out with a few things that I positively love and have to share with you all!

This is one of the ads Lilly Pulitzer has on their site. It shows their new Whitney Pant. It comes in the three great prints shown above.

As you know, chino shorts are normally my favorite. However, these Clifton Shorts are now tied for first!

This is the Kolby Dress in Shorely Blue Garden. It is a great shape that would be very flattering on most and the embroidering on the front creates great visual interest.

p.s. I love the bangles the dress is paired with. It makes this a very fun dress!

Worth Skinny Mini. The name is one of the best parts. These capris also come in neon ginger (shorts above are shown in neon ginger). They would be great for a summer day that is too cold for shorts.

Lilly Pulitzer always has a great line for every season with beautiful new prints and this line is no exception! Head on over and check out the rest of the line!

Monogram your iPhone!

A few weeks ago I saw a photo on pinterest and loved it! It was a picture of an iPhone but it had a monogram on the “home” button. I traced it back to this blog post by Prep in your Step. Now I decided to do the inverse of what she did with the monogram. I made the monogram the cut out and the boarder the color (she had the monogram be the color). I purchased the sticker from GS Monograms. The ones I used were the half inch vinyl monograms. They were shipped very quick! Six came on a small sheet to easily transfer them:

I cut one out to make it easier to transfer (I highly recommend doing this):

Transferring it on to the button was a little difficult because of the uneven surface. I used a credit card to push it on and peeled the very top of the monogram from the paper before sticking it on. This made it a bit easier. I also put one on my calculator- because it was an even surface it transferred very easily. Here is what is looks like on the phone:

I love the look of lime green against the black! Also, the lime green matches the monogram on my phone case (navy blue trellis, pink circle and lime green monogram). Here are the monograms on the phone and calculator:

They look great! I have a screen protector that goes over my phone which is black where the iPhone is black (top and bottom). This further framed the monogram and it looks great (the picture of both calculator and iPhone has no screen protector. Picture of iPhone only has protector on it before I adjusted it slightly). It seems that you could still use any screen protector over the monogram without trouble. Also, go slow and be sure to line the monogram up on the button. The stickers come it lots of great colors so be sure to check them all out. GS Monograms also makes larger stickers (maybe for a laptop?).

I really love the look of it and how personal it makes the phone. So many people have iPhones so personalizing it is a must!

Which color will you pick?

Castaway: Embroidered Shorts

I found castaway clothing two years ago while shopping on Martha’s Vineyard with my mom! The first pieces I bought were two polos. I loved them because they were v-neck polos without buttons. Then I discovered they made embroidered shorts…game changer. I knew that it was destiny that I had found this company. I love my sailing shorts from them. They are a great light weight material to keep you cool and cute all summer long!

Here are my favorite women’s and men’s shorts by Castaway Clothing this season:

I have to say, the Men’s short with the bow ties on them are my favorite. If they came in a women’s length and size they would be in my closet already.

They always have great colors and embroidering on their shorts. Any pair you pick will be great, you really can’t go wrong!

Which is your favorite (the bow ties)?

DIY: Return Labels

I made my own personal return labels with Lilly Pulitzer prints! I will show you how, step by step.

1. Using Microsoft Word, create a “New from template”. Scroll down and click label, then label wizard. From here, this screen will pop up.

Enter in your address (be sure you have selected- Full page of same label). Once you click “ok” your page should look like this.

*Note: if anyone wasn’t sure this is obviously not my real address… so please don’t try and mail me anything (email me instead)!

2. Okay now the fun stuff begins! Find a image you would like to use. Copy and paste it into the document and adjust the size. Place it in the beginning of each label.

It should look something like this (I used a Lilly Pulitzer print):

*Note I adjusted the font site from 12 to 11 in order to fit my image.

3. Copy the smaller image and paste it in front of all of your labels. Now change the font and color if you wish.

You can also use a different image on some of them, or if you really want a different image on all of them! Here is an example of two different prints:

I made a set for my mom using the blue Lilly Pulitzer print- she loves them!

You can find labels to print them on at your local office supply store. I used Avery labels and they came out great! Be sure your printer is not low on ink- you want bright colors!

Emma Graham- Design Consultant

I have some really exciting news! This summer I will be working for Emma Graham Designs (in a edition to being a nanny). I will be hosting trunk shows throughout the summer selling their designs. The company makes beautiful dresses, skirts, and tops. You can even design your own dress, skirts & wide brim hats by picking out colors and a style! Here are a few of my favorites from their current collection:

Jordan Dress

This might be my favorite dress in their current collection. I love mine- I purchased it last week and got it tuesday. I am so looking forward to wearing it!

Kristen Skirt

This skirt is available in design your own. You can pick the color of the skirt, and color of embellishment!

Millie

This is a design your own hat- pick out the sash and bow color to make it all your own!

I am really excited to work for the company this coming summer! They still have a few design consultant positions available for the summer- if you are interested in this shoot me an email and I will give you a hand! Also, if anyone is in the New England area, and would like to host a trunk show I would be more than happy to do one for you! I will post my email address so you all can get in contact with me!

Graduation Party!

I seem to be in this theme of the end of the school year and graduations. After my graduation gift post, I decided to do one on a graduation party (or any party for that matter)! These are some fun things to have at your graduation party to make your special day even more memorable!

Invitations:

The invitations shown here are the Lilly Pulitzer Correspondence Cards in Cloud Nine from Lifeguard Press. They come in other great prints and colors for whichever color scheme you decide on.

Decorations:

These will depend on where you decide to have your party. Some have great big parties for all the graduates at a house or venue and others may be a smaller dinner with families and friends. Whichever it is, balloons are a total must! They even have great kits at party stores to blow up your own balloons- this is what we (my family) usually use, it makes it easier on us and we don’t have to worry about balloons deflating over time.

I love flowers for decorating. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers because they have so much volume to them. I like the idea of doing smaller vases (or mason jars) and putting them in bunches to decorate.

Candles always seem to bring warmth to the room and for me they are really calming. The one shown is a soy candle with a monogram. You could easily buy inexpensive candles and make sticker monograms to personalize. (they would make a great gift for other graduates!)

Dinnerware:

At a party such as this, brining your fine china out might not be the best idea. Try some fun plates and coasters from Preppy Plates. They come in super fun colors and you can personalize them with a monogram, initial or name of your choice.

Food & Drink:

If you are having your party at a venue, this will probably be taken care of. However, if you are having it at home then be sure to have something to nibble on right away! Small sandwiches, chips & dip, fruit, punch and other easy to make (or buy) items go a long way.

As for the cake- I’ve opted to include cupcakes, I think they are easier for guests and having a cupcake with a little cap or diploma on it is too cute!

Last but never least, the dress:

For my graduation, girls wore white dresses, and boys wore navy blazers and khakis. Of course my dress was a white lace dress from Lilly Pulitzer.

This dress is also Lilly Pulitzer and would be great for graduation and a party afterwards. p.s. love her Lilly clutch! Here’s a great Lilly Pulitzer clutch to go with!

Have a blast at the graduation parties you plan & attend- that’s the most important part!
